I went to go THE PASSION for a second time and still found it a very intense and powerful film....it's as though Kurosawa had directed a Biblical Film...

Now I hear Gay Groups are upset because they fell Mel Gibson is being Homophobic because...

1)Rosalinda Celentano, a Lesbian actress was cast as Satan and they feel it implies Gays are evil people. Gibson cast her because of her husky delivery and intensity of her eyes in certain scenes. Celentano got along great with Mel Gibson during the filming and had no problem with the way her character was written...

2)King Herod is depicted as a mincing and effeminate Queer who acts the fool when Jesus is brought before him for judgement. He dismisses The Christ as a fool and sends him back to Pontius Pilate.... ;)

Lets not forget they were also upset with Gibson for portraying King Edward's (Longshanks) son in Braveheart as a mincing Queer as well and who tosses his sons Gay lover out a Castle Window(The best part of the flick)... although Historical fact proves he was Gay... ^_^

Why does'nt this surprise me ? :help:

I don't think that that Mel's movie is homophobic, so I agree with you there. But why did you think when Longshanks threw his son's gay lover out the window was the best part of the movie? I thought that was a pretty horrible part of the movie myself..........

I think a lot of folk are upset with this film, probably because of the boring hype it has had!
thank you. i'm gay, and i'm not upset with either mel gibson or his film for anything i can think of EXCEPT the insane over-hyped publicity it has gotten.

well, i also have a problem with some of the people who act like the movie is the second coming of christ. come on people, its a movie...it's not a new testament of jesus christ. if someone doesn't like it, its not an attack on christianity.

"boring hype" is not equivalent to seeing the movie. it is a comment on the reviews. good try though.
Does she not make it sound like she agree's with the boring hype? I don't see how anyone can agree with a review or hype intill you've seen the movie for yourself.

no..its more like "if i have to hear about this **** movie one more time i'm going to blow up my television" ... the movie may be fabulous, the movie may be awful, i don't know, i don't think she does either. i think the point is we're tired of hearing about it REGARDLESS.

You do have to give the OP credit, though: Knowing that the two things calculated to start an active thread in here are the  Homosexual Agenda  and Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ, he managed to combine them into a twofer. (If he could have brought in the Bush Administration, he'd have had a hat trick! ;))

I would like to see some substantive evidence other than the OP's bare word as to these supposed protests, though... surely somebody somewhere has documented them?

When I saw the movie, there were 3 gay men sitting behind me. They were each obviously moved. As we were walking out I patted one on the arm and smiled. He smiled back through tears.

I don't know the source of the OP, I'm just glad it's not a blanket statement about all the feelings of all gay people.

.:Mod hat on:.

As the OP violates the following Christian Forums Rule:
[notroll]

this thread is locked until further notice. The probability of serious, civil discussion in here is low, the probablity of a nasty flamewar is high.

If you wish to discuss homosexual reaction to The Passion, please take it to PM. Thank you. :)
