Well then, maybe we should go back to ALL the old ways of the Bible then, and what it says. YOU are the one who cherry picks the Bible. You say "that was for a different audience, that was for then", and then you say "this is for now". CHERRY PICKING with a CAPITAL C!
Do yuo follow Levitical laws relating to clothes of mixed fibre?Give an example, quote one perhaps, of me 'cherry picking'. Good luck.
Do yuo follow Levitical laws relating to clothes of mixed fibre?
If YOU are allowed to do whatever you want w/your Christian freedom under the Levitical laws, why aren't we? you aren't making any clear sense here. You will wear the clothing of mixed fabrics (the abomination) and justify it w/your freedom, while us gays will burn in hell? Thanks for the clarification! You seem to not understand the difference between the validity of the law and living under the law.
For whatever reason there is the bit in the law about mixed fabrics or whatever it is (I'd recommend reading what it says), the reason is from God.
Do I wear clothes of mixed fibre? I'll do whatever I please with my Christian freedom. Will I act against the law? While we all do sin, I will not act against the law in righteousness. Will I follow the law as a means of salvation? No, for it is not the law which saves.
I'll eat shellfish if it is good to eat shellfish. I'll enjoy a pint of beer. I'll sit and smoke a ciggarette with the crack-head. I'll do whatever my conscience allows me to do. Yet I will also learn from God His law.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is my understanding. Jesus never broke a single one of those OT laws and He is the example.
At 18, you seem to understand more than people 3x your age. Congrats! you have a great head on your shoulders!hello,
okay, Jesus did not attack homosexuality, the prejudice against homosexuals arose from humans, humans consider it wrong - this reminds me of the Pharisees who followed human laws and tradition. Jesus commandment is to love God and to love thy neighbour, if we do this we are following the law, homosexuals do not harm anyone by being homosexual therefore homosexuality is not a sin. But I dont know, this is just what i believe.
OK, so... why is it you are so down on homosexuals then? You seem to not understand the difference between the validity of the law and living under the law.

Because homosexuality is not going to kill anyone, like smoking is, for a start...
Homoesexuality occurs in nature, and is, based on all available evidence, a "natural" state for a minority of humans to be in, whereas cigarettes are completely artificial.
I don't think smoking is sinful, per ce, either... although I do think that WILLFULLY smoking, with the INTENTION of making yourself or others sick, probably is
Perhaps you may wish to cite another example.Disobeying your parents may not kill anyone, it is still wrong.
Not that homosexuality kills or hurts anyonethere is a slight difference between killing and hurting but the are both sins in the eyes if God.
Yes, great point Enemyparty...David X and a few others are hijacking by making this about hurt and killing, which has nothing to do with the thread. Not that homosexuality kills or hurts anyone
