And WHERE does God tell us that?

Chapter and Verse, please.
No such chapter and verse exists. The funny part is that FA thinks it is a flame to point that out.

But as she so often says to homosexuals, single mothers, people who have sex outside of marriage, and any other people she deems unworthy...

*ahem* IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE WAY GOD WROTE THE BIBLE, TAKE IT UP WITH HIM WHEN YOU MEET HIM!

I do not think God is a judge. I think that's a human idea, born of the wish to see what we believe to be justice done. But I don't think that ever happens. I think God is just eternal love, and we all return to God when we die.

if you were of God, you would hear God's words.

Mat 4:3-10
(3) And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.
(4) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
(5) Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
(6) And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.
(7) Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.
(8) Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
(9) And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.
(10) Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

He wasn't reading it from the Sunday New York Times...

Merely the fact that "it was written" is enough for Jesus, and its enough for me. The Bible is WAYYYYYYYYY more than a book. If you don't believe it, check your history books, and see what all the Bible and its God have done, through Christians, through Israel, throughout time.

Ask yourself: why would Peter and the others die horrible deaths testifying to the resurrection of Jesus Christ? Its because they saw him, and were sore afraid, for God really had come to earth.

It's all about what YOU think, Ohioprof. What about what you KNOW? You have no foundation, when you reject the God who Himself says, "I will judge".

I do check history books, as I am a history professor. The Bible has had a great impact through history, as Christianity spread. But that is not evidence that the Bible is the word of God. Neither are the actions of Peter. I respect the fact that you believe the Bible is the word of God, but I don't believe that. Nor do I believe a resurrection literally took place.

The point of a debate forum is for each of us to explain and discuss what we think. I do not claim to KNOW the truth about God. I do my best to try to understand God, to conceive of God, and to worship and grow closer to God. But do I KNOW the truth about God? No.

So why are YOU judging in His place? It's neither your right nor your responsibility to judge others when their actions are no concern of yours!

It is obvious that you do not comprehend what judging truly is.

The people of God are instructed to judge for righteousness...we need to be discerning in this area, so as to know each other as brehtren--and who aren't. Jesus has given us a mandate to judge, not with criticism, but with a discernment that comes from Him, about the truth of a matter, and whether something or someone is of Christ or of Satan.

Yes, and homosexuality isn't "of Satan" otherwise God or Jesus would have said so.

Any behaviour that God says is detestable or an abomination to Him wouldn't be from Him. He speaks of the damnation of those who participate on such things.

So, do you even own a Bible?

God Himself DOESN'T say homosexuality is detestable though, you've either been fooled by Satan to spread hatred and intolerance or you're deliberately lying to justify your immoral prejudices.

Which is it?
There are plenty of biblical references regarding homosexual actions, and I've yet to find one that even remotely tolerates or condones them, let alone shows them in a blessed light. Pair that up with constant biblical models of man-woman relationships starting from the creation of man and not a mention of any sexual same-sex relationships.

Now we have the other side of the debate trying to justify their own prejudices.

Homosexuality isn't all about sex, anymore than heterosexuality is. Or do you have the same opinion of heterosexuality as well?
I never said it was. I was speaking of same-sex sex and you gave a reference that mentions nothing about it.

Don't be ridiculous!

I have no hatred for homosexuals. They are very wrong in what they believe. There are many who say they are Christians. My job as a Christian is to tell them that they commit a grave sin. They and you view that as hatred but it isn't. Intolerance? Well, we are not supposed to tolerate sin, especially in those who claim to know the Saviour. That means that they are supposed to be member sof the Church of Jesus Christ. If so, then we have a right and an obligation to offer correction. Refusing it, they reveal that they are NOT of Christ and that is how we know what we are dealing with...Satanic forces.

As the Church of Jesus Christ has unity, anyone who delves into homosexuality or approves of such, is revealing that they are outside the Church.

I have no immoral prejudices. Sorry to disappoint you. I stand for Jesus Christ on this issue.

Best friends. Big deal. These two men never sinned with one another. David would never have been king if he was a pervert. Don't be ludicrous. That is gutter theology...Satanic, actually.
