Homeless attack..

What would you do if you were minding your own business, when suddenly you were attacked by some homeless people? Would you fight back? Or would you back off as a sign of pity. Or would you view them as beneath you, and decide to engage in the nasty fight?

These homeless people are sickly and hungry, so they are easy to fend off.

The majority of homeless are mentally ill or drug addicts. Depending upon how many there were, they would either have a bad day, or their last day.

In my area most are homeless vets. Would I fight them? No, I'd try not to, but I would if I have to.

There's something off about your question though. If I don't fight them, it's because I think they're beneath me and in need of my pity or something right?

Option

1. Fight back with loaves of bread and sticks of salami. I can't lose...

2. Offer them whatever small change or money I could, so they could buy food.

3. Fight, if need be. Not sure why it would be nasty though, given that they are both "sickly and hungry" and "easy to fend off".

I would try and fight them off me - so I can get away, but I wouldn't stay to engage in a fight with them. Why do that?

No, I don't think so. You can feel pity for someone w/o thinking they're beneath you.

I recruit them under my wing, train them and then travel city to city having them fight other gangs of homeless fighters in public cage matches ("Hobopaloozas", we'd call them) for filthy cash money.

Of course, I'd donate a percentage of the profits to homeless shelters. It's only humane.

What are you doing that agitated them so much? Most homeless people prefer to keep to themselves unless they are trying to "win" a ride to jail and a warm place to sleep. Remember that most homeless people are mentally ill and therefore their behavior is erratic and unpredictable. I would walk away. You never know which ones have spent time in prison and learned how to fight there. Do not judge based on appearance.

One of my sweetest psych patients was a little old man who spent 10 years in prison for severely injuring a police office in a fight. His home outside the hospital was a homeless shelter.

To answer the OP:

Yes, I'd fight back if I was attacked, but I would never be the one to engage the fight myself. But yeah, I'd definitely fight back and wouldn't feel the least guilty about either. I don't care who you are or what unfortunate circumstances you're experiencing...nobody physically beats up on me and gets away with it.

The only homeless vet I am sure of is in a wheelchair.

If attacked out of the blue by any group I'd put as many down as i could. I'm big and now slow. For me retreat would be more dangerous than fighting. The next intended victim may not be able to retreat.

Oh and if some group attacked someone for no reason I'd expect the vet in the wheelchair to attack them, second choice is he would go for help.

I do not care if a ratpack is vets or not. Their previous occupation is no excuse for their current actions.
