  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello everyone,
I hope this is the right place to post this. I've always wanted to visit The Holy Land. Since I don't know when I will be able to make the trip myself, I'd really like to have something always with me that has been there - this will make me feel closer to Jesus and feel His journey and His life. I've heard of a few options, such as holy water from the Jordan river, olive oil and wooden crosses made of olive tree. Does anyone have any recommendation? Any help would be great!

Hi, Walter. Those items you mentioned are common--probably the most common and easily obtained of all the possibilities. That being the case, I would suggest getting one or both and seeing if they produce the feeling you are after. If they do not, you will have to consider something else, but this is the logical place to start.

Thank you, Albion. Do you know of a specific place to get these artifacts? A recommendation would really help. Have you yourself been to The Holy Land? Thanks again.

I have not been there. I was just commenting on the items.

These are often bought as souvenirs by people while travelling in the Holy Land.
However, I think there is a good chance of picking up one in any Christian Book Store, particularly a cross of olive wood imported from Israel.
