Does Hollywood show Slavic people in a positive way?

Does Hollywood show Eastern Orthodox people in a positive way?
I am not sure, but Hollywood does seem to show Eastern Europeans in a negative way. Probably a relic of the Cold War, and now with Putin trying to run a dictatorship and invade countries.

This 2014 BBC article explains:

Some Slavic countries are members of the European Union.

Some Eastern Orthodox countries are members of the European Union.
That is true. Bulgaria is a member of the EU, same with Poland and Czechia along with a few others. I am not sure if Hollywood has ever portrayed Eastern Orthodox in a bad light. Yo my brother, @prodromos , can you help answer @Love365's question about how Orthodoxy is portrayed in Hollywood and Western movies?

I think Hollywood is generally pretty ignorant when it comes to Orthodoxy. I remember a scene in the movie "Electra" where they were at an Orthodox funeral, with a Greek priest chanting the service. The subtitles at that point said (chanting in Latin) ^_^

Haha, that is funny. :) Yeah, Hollywood seems to be ignorant on lots of things, including religion, physics and detective work.

If there is a Disney Princess for every other race of people,

Where is the Slavic Disney Princess?
I honestly have no idea. Hollywood is a weird bunch, trying to promote diversity (which we need some diversity, but not overkill), yet at the same time, ignoring certain minorities.

There is a Reddit thread about this very issue (age warning: 16+, as Reddit may contain cussing). I do not have a Reddit account, but it is free and readable for everyone with no login:

I could have sworn that Disney owned 20th century Fox, but I live under rocks.

Ooh, I'm a poet and I didn't even know it.
Fox made the movie many years before Disney bought them.

At Disneyland and Disney World they have women
on staff who dress up as Disney Princesses.

Is Anastasia at Disney Parks ?

I am not sure, but most likely, Anastasia is not at Disney parks, as it was made before Disney bought out Fox. I don't want to judge, but Disney has gotten a little too big in my opinion, and seem to have a control over our entertainment. They made good stuff when I was a kid and before, but their newer stuff is not my taste anymore.

In 2023, one could watch Anastasia in one of the park's movie theaters: Where You Can Watch 'Anastasia' in Disney World | the disney food blog

Would you support a Polish Disney Princess?
Yes, I would. I am not Polish, but was adopted from Bulgaria, which is a Slavic country just as Poland is. :)

Be careful what you wish for. With the current woke mentality at Disney, it will probably be a trans princess, also identifying as disabled so they get pushed everywhere in a wheelchair.

Yeah, probably. It is time for a new, independent film studio to make a non-woke TV show. TV (and some movies to an extent) has been utter crap for the past two years.

It seems unlikely Disney would do that.

You could ask for the classic Disney style,
that they had for many years.

Amen, I love the classic Disney style (1940s - mid 2000s). Knowing where Disney is going in 2024, who knows what the next show or movie would be like.
