Please explain how this relates to the post you quoted. Thanks.Yeshua knows laws better than us.. just like it takes understanding the laws and working with them to get an airplane off the ground.. and airplanes weigh more than a ton too...
OK so you still need to be told what to do. I have no problem with you following a rote list if that is what you need. I'm led from the inside and am a follower of God as a dear child.
I believe that I have walked in love with you. Do I need also to die for your sin what ever that may be or entail. Or is it that I just need to shut up and say more power to you. What do you need?
Fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, is not once named by me, filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting. That is none of the above are part of my life. Now you might say that I talk foolishly and jest. What is meant by the listing of these 2 items? Surely Paul isn't saying not to exchange pleasantries or tell a good joke and have some fun or to not be lite. The other side of the word jesting covers the use of scutilous language which is vulgar or abusive or the telling of filthy jokes - licentious humor. This isn't my life style.
I do give thanks everyday.
I'm not a male prostitute. I have clean thought life. I don't want your stuff. I don't worship other gods.
I'm doing my bestest to keep someone from deceiving me with a false gospel and other things. I don't commonly associate with any of the above. That none of my friends that I know of do this stuff.
I was kept in darkness for a long time by professional religious leaders.
I certianly do seek to prove what is acceptableto the Lord.
I don't fellowship with the wicked. But I don't go out of my way to reprove or correct them. They have to get into my face and then usually I just walk away knowing there is nothing I can do concerning them except pray.
I think that I walk accurately, diligently skilled forming the best plans and using the best means for their execution before the Lord.
Concerning the Lord I believe that I'm redeeming the time - hence my being here.
I believe I'm being wise. I fully understand you don't agree.
I don't imbibe and do believe that I'm filled with the Spirit. Of course many think I'm deceived. But that is OK.
All of this is pretty much automatic for me an I don't have to think about doing any or most of it at all. This comes with being led by the Spirit.
All I'm trying to do with that response is to show that those things are covered by the leading of the Holy Spirit in reality. I've been trying to tell you for the longest that I've no need for a list as such behavior is comparable to auto pilot for me when I follow the Holy Spirit. But that is a no go for you. You have many posts concderning the law you follow and even cite the OT. Uncle! You don't want my stuff? Its not mine, its Gods word, its His will.
How are you dying with my sin? I don't control Gods Grace or your faith. God gives grace and no man can take it away, our Faith is in Jesus Christ and He is the author and finisher of it.
How is following Gods will following a list? Are you not actually telling the apostles to not list things and not me? Its their list, not mine.
I'm not accusing you by using those scriptures, you're just taking it personally. I'm just saying that its Gods will because the apostles say so. All i was accusing you of is accusing me of trying to be perfected in the flesh when i'm actually following holiness and Gods will. Just because its on paper you think i shouldn't follow it? Where did you learn it from if not the Holy scriptures that are written down for us to read and learn from? Your eyes read those words and heart agreed it was Gods will, God put it in your heart to obey, but he didn't magically put it in your heart without you first reading it did He? If its listed then its listed for a reason. Its not the law that is listed, its Gods will that is listed, and its the apostles who list it, no me.

Sometimes its good for us to make sure that we're actually being lead by the Holy Spirit. That's why the apostles tell us what Gods will is, that's why they warn us to know what that will is. They tell us for good reason. You don't need a list and neither do i because its in our head and heart. But others need Gods grace and the knowledge of His will that is written down for us to learn. Some people live in sin and think they are also being lead by the Holy Spirit to stay in that sin, but the Spirit corrects us doesn't He? He uses Gods written word and our heart and conscience all working together for that purpose. We should follow the voice that agrees with Gods will as found in the written word and not any thing else if it disagrees with the written word. Yes i cite the OT, i love the bible, especially the NT and psalms.
Sorry, I must've misunderstood your post # 879. What were you getting at there, if I might ask?
Frogster, I certainly wouldn't have advised your friend to continue in a sinful lifestyle, he certainly must know that it is sin (how do we know that? by the LAW). But when he feels powerless to change, then that's where the HOly Spirit kicks in.
Same goes for our sins too, if we throw out the law, we'll all be divided on what sin really is and that's not a good road to go down. However, grace lets us come to God as we are, then He fills us up with power, and by growing in Him we know what we should and should not be doing, BUT the awesome thing is we'll have the power to obey God because of the Holy Spirit in us. But we still grow and learn by reading His Word (ALL of it, including His commands).

I don't think it's ever been addressed every time I say, the way people put the Law, you'd think God made a mistake by ever giving it in the first place.
It just doesn't show gratitude to God for grace to discredit all His instructions, which are good. If the Law points out that I've sinned, thank God that I have grace and forgiveness. But because I know what sin is, it is to repent and with the power of the Holy Spirit to change and obey Him.
Paul would be shaking his head at how far the 'grace gospel' has gone from his original intents.
