The whole Gospel spoken in the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth tickles my ears.
Hey this is a pretty interesting thread. I'm surprised at how tame it is. Looking around GT has changed in the last year.
It appears my old friends are doing a great job.

acts 20;24, it is called a gospel of grace, not law...
be blessed.
I see much of the NT doctrine is found also in some of the law. Paul did say its good and holy. He did say we establish the Law, he did say for love we obey the law. The law is helpful in showing us our sin and our need for a Savior, and in understanding holiness and love. I like Gods law.
establish the law? he used it to condemn for 3 chapters, so contextually, if you want it established, then we are condemned, lets use the verse the way he did.
What is Love and holiness except something that was already found in the law? God still requires us to be holy and to love each other and Himself. I like to look at it like we should obey the law as given by the apostles. They speak a great deal about salvation by faith alone, but they also teach us a lot about Gods will and abstaining from all forms of evil. Without teaching those things with grace we risk having Christians walking after the lust of their own flesh instead of after holiness and in the Spirit. I guess it depends on how you look at it.
well...just don't look at it to long, it will bind the conscience, whereby you will become sin centered, instead of being cleansed by the blood, according to hebrews, of a guilty conscience, we are not to walk around all gloomed out in guilt. it does not do anything, but produce defeat.

I also look at warnings Jesus and the apostles Gave us about being doers of the word and not just hearers of it, and about how some will call Him lord but he will reject them. I'm just trying to work out my own salvation in fear and trembling like the apostles us tell to, and also to seek to perfect holiness in the fear of God.
Some may think that the law has caused me to stumble in faith, but this is not so, i have stumbled over my own vanity and also all the contention over the law, and spiritual warfare is not always easy, the closer we get to victory the more satan tries to deceive us and make us stumble, but i never stumbled in faith over looking closely at Gods will for us.
in other words, you seem to be stuck staring at one elemental truth, yes, we don't want to sin, but you don't seem to be interested in the heart and sould of the teaching on the HOW of it all.
I like when others own their particular theology as their own and just apply it to themselves. I am more incline to believe and be inspired by those statements than by attempts to universalize what thry believe is right.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
...he that hath seen me hath seen the Father... (John 14:9)
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (Mat 16:24)
Jesus makes you the same offer he made to those hearing these words - Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Some may think that the law has caused me to stumble in faith, but this is not so, i have stumbled over my own vanity and also all the contention over the law, but not the law itself, and spiritual warfare is not always easy, the closer we get to victory the more satan tries to deceive us and make us stumble, but i never stumbled in faith over looking closely at Gods will for us.
Essentially you're saying as long as things are difficult I'm right and doing good.I see it as the fundamental truth yes, but that truth is the only way, its the narrow road, it marked by rest stops of grace and walked in faith, but its paved with obedience to Gods will, its sometime rocky and narrow for sure, but if we're not following His will we are on the wrong road.
