I wish I could. Stop the extremnists on both side and get on the middle course.

Jesus was considered an extremist and so were all of the Christians for the first few hundred years. If we are not to be of this world would we not be considered extremists as well?

“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you.

And all nations will hate you because you are my followers.

It is a privilege to be considered extreme for Christ. If we aren't considered extreme in our walk with our savior then we may well be off the path.

I think we're discussing politicis here and I find it at the least inappropriate compare fallible politics and politicians with Jesus Christ.

It is absolutely appropriate to comment on your remark about removing extremism from politics, which is a mirror of life in general, general.

I seem to recall Jesus said a few words about being luke warm.

indeed~it was about a very prideful church that felt that they had everything under control...and they faced destruction if they didn't repent.

Rev 3:14 –Rev 3:22 NKJV
“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write,
‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:
“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’”
