  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Historic Methodist rift is part of larger Christian split over LGBTQ issues

It's not just the Methodists, nor just we Catholics. There are splits in the churches of Baptists, Mennonites, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Episcopalians, Evangelicals, and non-doms, 98% of them over "gay marriage" or homosexual clergy.

As I said before: the widespread acceptance of sexual dysfunction is going to be the catalyst of the apocalypse.

We keep predicting the apocalypse and it keeps not happening. But one of these times it likely will.

As to the ripping open of denominations over sexual issues perhaps there will be some real good to come out of the realignment. After all a Methodist congregation that left the UMC might have more affinity with Catholics that get kicked out of the pope Francis Catholic Church and the various other groups that don't open to blessing the unblessable. We MIGHT find we have enough in common to bury the hatchets and be the witnesses God needs before the apocalypse. We sure will not be popular in the society or in the religious milieu but we might find we can be comrades in the trenches. These are scary times, but they are times of opportunity as well. It is time to persevere in the faith, and to listen to the Holy Spirit and to step up.

homosexual stuff, is the same as adulterers, fornicators, liars, etc, idk why is so hard to understand nowadays, maybe because we are calling good evil, and evil good, which is very dangerous, christians shouldn't even remotely play with the idea about this today way of thinking, they need them to convert to you it says, not you to them, and then we shouldn't conform our way of thinking to the world one.
