  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I dance it without taking lessons. I got 2 months of lessons two years ago.

It was funny: untill that point I had never done real hiphop: only easy urban dances. I had also not realy done any dance technique except for ballet (1 year) I was having a terrible time: I kept holding my sholders down all the time...standing perfectly straight... but in two months I learned the basics.

Before I had taken these classes, I wanted to choreograph a hiphop dance: but I had no idea. Imagine hip hop, but instead of putting the accent downwards, you put it upwards, sothat it is always jumping lightly up and down. That was the result.

Two months with a teacher who teaches by explaining the basic reflexes would probably do the trick for you. In the mean time practice isolation: mouvement of only one part of the body. In hiphop you have the hips, the thorax, the sholders, the elboes, the rists, and the head. If you can isolate them, move them around without mouving the rest of the body, you'll get the reflexes faster.

I love hip hop! To me its not just dancing its how you think the way you feel when you hear the music the way your body wants to move when the music comes on. To me hip hop is more than just a type of music!! You get a great work out and theres always things to learn, always new dance moves.
