  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I attended my 20th last year. I guess it was both good and bad. It was neat to see that my friends had aged a little also. There was a lot of talk about who had married and divorced, kids, jobs and careers, etc. I did see two of my old girlfriends that I hadn't seen since school. They were both knock outs during school, but I'd have to say they aren't growing older very well, ha. I guess they may say the same for me though. All in all I'm glad I went.

I didn't go to my 10 yr and I don't see myself going to my 20 either. All my friends were either older or younger. The only person I care to see from h.s. I got married to so....:D :p I had a lot of pain and turmoil that went with high school. The only way I got through it was finding Jesus and my husband.

I guess the thing about high school reunions, is that you still remember people as they were ,so if you you see them and they have aged then you may feel really old.
I would worry that I would not recognise many,or that I could not remember the names. I think the name tags just are for first names.

I did not go to my 10 year reunion.mainly because I did not think people would of changed that much, also back then I still used to see a few friends from school.
Sorry to hear you had a rough time at school. daisysqueaks. At least you found positives from your experience.

When I went to my 10th reunion 5 yrs ago, it seemed like everyone gravitated back into their old cliques, with some small changes. One or two of the nerds were handsome gentlemen and now were socially accepted by the jocks...but for the most part we were all in the same cliques having a great time.
But, most of the people were still tightly knitted whetether through a common workplace or just never losing contact after school. I on the other hand never kept in contact with anyone and was so suprised at how everyone had changed.

I went to my 10th back in 2000. I was engaged at the time. It was a lot of fun to me to see how some of the folks had changed. I agree with Gerry in that most of the people instantly gravitated to the same groups they hung out with during H.S.

But for the most part it was a lot of fun. I got to see some people I hadn't seen in a long time. A few of the friends I had in H.S. weren't able to make it so I didn't get to see them. I do plan on going to my 20th if I'm able to make the trip. I've moved out of state since my 10th and where I grew up but not so far that I shouldn't be able to either drive or fly down.

Haven't gone to my 10th in 2003
Nor plan on it for fears that the
Adults that made fun of me as kids
Will still do the same!
It's unlikely that anyone will be making fun of you.
Not necessarily because ,they would of changed ,but because they will want to "appear" to have changed.
Yes some kids are really horrible, but we all know that they probably had alot going on outside school to make them behave so....Having said that not all bullies had problems at all they just liked the power trip.

If that is the case,I will be spending all night at the back of the hall ,with my old friends, laughing about myself ,giggling too much in lessons!

I went to my 10th. It was fun for the most part but I was sad most of my friends didn't go. I caught up with a few old pals and a new one. It was interesting to see the captain of the football team who I never liked and who never liked me had a big gut and was balding, married to a big girl with a pretty face. Time seems to level things out. I'd advise everyone to go to their high school reunions with a date and just be cordial and see how people turn out. One thing that amazed me was the cute girls all looked the same as they did 10 years ago.

So the cute girls looked the same.... I will bet you, they put extra pressure on themselves to look a certain way. Or maybe some allowances are made from the men?I mean, you don't often hear people saying,so and so got ugly ...all you hear is so and so put on weight!
I think ,putting on weight, balding ,loosing teeth etc is inevitable.

I didnt go to my 10 year one who knows though I might go to my 20 year reunion. Just for curiostiy sake lol.I dont think anyone would know who I am anyway, except those that I hanged out with in school.
I think many people think that they would not be recognised. I'm quite good at remembering faces just names I'm not to good with.
Mind you, there was one girl, who came up to me about 5 years after school ended, and I had no clue who she was. Only when she told me her second name the penny dropped. Oops!

Sure it might be nice to catch up with a few old friends, but most of the time I'd rather forget high school.

I didn't have any interest in attending my 5th or 10th... but I'm not sure about the 20th. Maybe I'll change my mind for that one.

The thing that bothers me about the idea is the whole "let's see who changed for the worst" game. It seems morbid and depressing to me... even though I'm pretty much the same height, weight etc. that I was then.

They probably did work out alot up to the reunion. Funny thing is, several months prior to the reunion I got a job where I had to work hard all day long and I missed alot of meals. By the time the reunion came around I was 20 pounds lighter and everyone thought I looked the same. :D

Time does catch up with us all. The older people I talk with every day sometimes bring up 40 and 50 year reunions where they say there are fewer people at each reunion.
