"Ever notice how the ones we look up to, as being examples of how we should live, the ones we think of as being Spiritual leaders, and the ones from whom we seek advice, are forever quoting scripture?"
There are many good reasons for that, but the one David used is one that we as Christians need to apply to our lives today, I think, more than at any other time.
We live in a day of many trials, toubles, stresses, and temptations. Our reactions to our circumstances can have a detrimental effect on our testimony.
So like David, we should hide His Word in our heart (memorize it) so that we do not give into the many temptations to sin that we face daily.
King David said in Psalm 119:11, "Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee."
What do we have hidden in our hearts?
