My neighbor has a hickory nut tree in his yard and they are my favorite nuts. Even though he allows us to pick the nuts, I wanted a hickory tree of our own.
This was not something I outright prayed for, it was a desire of my heart and a passing wish to my family. We now have a hickory tree growing in the yard that is eight years old. Someone might say that isn't necessarily God but when I look at the old tree, at least 70 years old, and there has never been a seedling from in the surrounding area in the 17 years we lived there nor could the previous owner remember a seedling, I believe God did that for me.
God is so good and delights in us. I'm so thankful for the little, seemingly insignificant things that He does, yet they are the faith builders that we look back on so that when storms come up on the sea of life, those little things keep us afloat, looking up to Him and we know that we know He is the Lord Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth and we are His children.
