Hi ,

I'm new here.

As yet I'm not a Christian but want to become one. My biggest problem is taking that leap of faith that God actually exists. I haven't come here to ask anyone to prove anything to me because I know that's not the way, but I hope that by talking to you all and my own prayer and studying of the Bible I will be able to attain that faith.

I'ts difficult for me because I'm always looking for logical answers, and  I need to be able to put that aside and just believe.

Anyway, i just wanted to say hi

Heyas teej. yknow i used to doubt alot as well.. and sometimes thats okay. But God gives answers to those who seek with a sincere heart and I can see that you're sincere to the bones! So dont give up on God, even though answers may come slow, but trust me. They come.

Personally I finally decided to stop thinking so much and just trust in Him just over a year ago. What happened is I went to Youth and this speaker told us about how so many of the prophecies in the Old Testamony [ o man i cant spell that o.o ].. well uh they came true! and it was just absolutely amazing and i dunno if it was God stirring me or I just finally came to my senses [ like how sometimes we do math, and we dont get it...and then suddenly something just sorta clicks ] but from then on I just realised how puny we are actually, in the context of knowing God. I mean, how do we even begin to compare?? Even God's shadow is more holy and magnificent than the holiest person on earth.. And thats when I decided that if we could understand God, then mebbe He shouldnt BE God. So yea. here I am, just walking by faith.

I have no idea how old you are, but there is an old addage that says "the proof is in the pudding"! And as GMI has pointed out Chriustianity is like that too. It has, as you already know, nothing to do with logic. Christianity is a faith based religion.

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

So not only is salvation a free gift from God, but the faith to accept it is also a gift from God! He gives you the necessary faith, and obviously He has already given it to you.

So all you need to do is go to the bottom of this page and click on "Become a Christian", whenever you are ready, and if you feel the "drawing" of the Holy Spirit", do it now.

I feel that I am getting there, I believe in my heart but not with my head. I feel that if I keep praying with my heart, my head will follow

LOL! You are confusing faith and logic still. Faith is not in the head. Faith is in the heart! As GMI said. Once you are saved, then the Holy Spirit will guide you in all Truth!

I think you are on the right track TeeJay. I pray that God will help you make that final "leap" that you need to make. Once your heart believes, your head will come around. More than likely, you will be in awe of the wonderful things God can and will do in your life. Then your head will believe what your heart has told you all along.
