I've tried a couple of message boards since Leftbehind.com decided to go to a subscription only messageboard. This one looks very nice, and I even recognize some very nice people from over there. My name is Brian, I live in Orange County, CA, and go to a non-denominational church. I work fulltime, and am studying to be a teacher.

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was on and off the board for a few years. I've been doing both boards since last Feb. What kind of topics ? Hmmm..a little of everything i suppose. I was really into the Is Jesus God type debates for a long time, some eschatology..dabble in preterism both partial and full. Though i would not consider myself a full preterist i'm a very partial one. Interesting stuff.
This is a much different board than other one. They're well moderated first of all and most people are fairly respectful when debating. For anything you get into, as A. Believer said the other day i think, that he was being bombarded on a thread. Well, the forums here are quite busy !! It could be partly my lack of knowledge, but there are some people here who really know their stuff..so be prepared to be put on the spot with well thought out replies. No forum is perfect, this one lacks in a few areas for me as does LB - that's why i switch back and forth a bit.

Welcome its great to have you, I too was a member at LBMB but I have not posted there in so long, I had no idea they went to subscription until I seen people talking about it here.

It is actually nice when people can respond with scriptures or at least something other than their own opinions. I am looking forward to this.
