Hi,

I'm new here. Just posted twice before on Christian Advice.

I've been diagnosis with Bipolarity last year and I'm taking Lithium 600mg and Ravotril 0,5mg at nights. I feel more stable since this medication. But think that I need to heal some painful issues in my life.

I bought one book of Joyce Meyer on internet that talks about it. I live in Chile, so it will take some time to get it I'm trying also with a counselor or therapist, hope it works... sometimes they say things that contradicts Christian faith (like to have sex with anyone you like is normal and natural)... so I need to be careful with it.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Hi my name is Rob and I am fairly new here myself.

I too have been diagnoisedsince 2002 with bpd(bi polar disorder) and on several medications. And have been in counseling for almost 3 years. I highly recommend counseling because one of the steps we have to take is finding new ways to deal with issues in our lives. And trust me that takes time and help. And as you learn about your diorder you may find later the meds may not be right for you and need to change some of them or up them. Always talk to you Dr before adjusting though as it can lead you ito a manic episode. TAKE YOUR TIME in getting to know what is you that needs changing and what is caused by the disorder.

As for Joyce Myers I think she is a very annointed minister of God and watch her every chance I get.....Rob

Another book to read is very good is Joel Olsteen.
He really gets his message across . I watch him every sunday night but, I'm in ct, united states

Hello and welcome to Christian forums bp area. YOu will find much love and support here!!! Yes, counseling is a wonderful step. You are so right about dealing with issues. It is exactly where I am at. I have been very sick for about 10 years and about 2 yrs ago was finally diagnosed as bp 2. I am in the US. So I am right where you are in finally feeling better and now there very hard work of dealing with issues and learning new ways of dealing and weven thinking about things. It is more difficult with a non Christian counselor, but the advice can still be good. ASK GOD for wisdom amd discernment. God promises us these things in His word. He say He is ready and willing to answer that prayer in abundance. Also pray to be protected from wrong advice. Do not be afrain of this journey. God is at work in your life!!!
