Hello Brea, you lurker, you.

I changed my major 5 times before settling on Psychology too hehe so you're not alone

First, thank you to everyone for the kind welcomes! Y'all are great! (Yes, even us yankees can say 'y'all' sometimes...I picked it up at my first college in SC)

And I think that most Psych people have changed their majors a few times. I think it points to our inherent complexity, no?

Hi Brea I am a psych major, too. What are you planning to do after you graduate?

Hi My plans change all the time, but I'm currently interested in either working with Borderline PD clients, or working with women who've been sexually abused/have other sexual issues.

What do you want to do?

Welcome.

Who are your favorite research models?

Freud? Kant? Jung? Skinner? Gestalt?

Hmm, well, I rather like Rogers. Some Jung, really bits and pieces of many different theories (which I suppose is true of most psych people ). I will say that I'm *definitely* not a straight behaviorist and I find Fritz Perls (Gestalt) quite frightening, but that's more of a personality thing .
Some Christian psychologists that I love are Larry Crabb, Henry Cloud (well, at least for the book "the 12 'Christian' beliefs that can drive you crazy') and the guy who wrote "The Five Love Languages" series, whose name escapes me.

Who do you like?

Sorry for the previous barrage of replies- I just figured out this multi-quote deal, lol

We all know you really signed up because of the King of Awesome, Mr. Spicy McHaggis. That is why I signed up....

Coach

That's exactly why....how did you know?!?!

Seriously - are you trying to scare her off?

I'm a psych major and I've worked in a daycare center...I defy anyone to scare me after those

Hello brea.

A woman who lives next to me, a Christian, smart and likely attractive.

What football team do you root for?

Umm...uh....the ones that have the nicest colors on their jerseys? Which would oust the Browns (orange and brown, what were they thinking?). But OSU could still be in the running.

Not for nothing Brea but if you say Buckeyes I'm not going to talk to you for like, 16 days.

Uh oh Well, okay, then I change my answer from OSU to my college's team, the Zips. Their colors aren't great, but the mascot is a strange looking kangaroo which I'd thought for awhile was a big disproportionate dog. Will that work?

Hello and welcome from a fellow buckeye! What part of Ohio are you from?

I'm not going to say Go Buckeyes, cause I don't want to be uncool. LOL
So I'll stick with Go Bombers!

I'm from Cuyahoga Falls. I grew up in Valley View though.
Man, there are a lot of us Ohioans, aren't there?

Are you going to go for a Master's or PhD? I haven't made up my mind on what I want to do yet. Some of the things I have looked into are going to grad school for mental health counseling, or working with an organization that trains service dogs for people with disabilities, working in adoption agencies, working in a halfway house or homeless shelter, or going to grad school for rehabilitation counseling or disabilities services, etc.

Welcome, Brea. We need more Zips on the singles forum.

As a psych major, you will no doubt feel right at home and --- as I'm sure you have observed --- have plenty of folks to practice on in these threads.

Pretty cool name, too. It's hard to imagine anyone named Brea could be unattractive.

Masters at the most, I think. I'm quite tired of school at this point.
I think working with adoption agencies would be soooo difficult. I'd cry everyday.
I'm not sure where I'll go to school next though- it's hard to find training programs for Christian sex therapists. Those aren't three words you hear together all that often, lol

I think one of our suppliers (at work) has a facility in Cuyahoga Falls.

My dad is from Beaver Falls originally. Not sure where that is in relation to you.

Well, I went to school by a city called Beavercreek- could that be it? It's between Columbus and Cincinnati.

lol, oh man, the world is full of practice

Thanks, but my full name is Bryanne- could that be unattractive?

I sure did. PS- your 'birthin' no babies' line made me laugh. My mom's quite into Gone With the Wind and says that a lot.
