Hello there, welcome! Personally I use numerous translations but was weaned on the KJV. I am really interested in the Greek and Hebrew of the Bible so I utilize Greek and Hebrew interlinears and lexicons in almost all my devotions.

Are you Catholic? Do you like the Douay Rheims translation of the Latin Vulgate? I do but I am not Catholic.

Today I watched The Shoes of The Fisherman, a 1968 movie about electing a USSR pope - in those days there was a USSR, now it is Russia and a number of independent countries.

In the movie Anthony Quinn is elected pope, he's from Ukraine but is called "Russian" a few times; today that would be an unforgivable faux pas.

In the Movie the Chairman of the Polit Bureau (USSR government leader) sent the new pope a message with a gift. The gift was Ukrainian soil and a bunch of sunflower seeds in a box. I thought it was poignant - given the current situation.

I commend the movie to all who can access it.
