I am Chou. It's great to be here. I'm Chinese, my grandfather is a Christian, and he taught me "lessons" from my early age. Unfortunately, after then, I hadn't further guidance afterwards as an adult.

I've been living in Germany for several years to study for my Master degree. I have to admit that some pray helped me get through the toughest, lonely, helpless and stressful days.

Several months before, I had a bad time again and tried to listen to some Christian rock music and interviews to keep focused. It worked, thanks NEEDTOBREATHE, by the way.

Then I realized that how important is religion, faith and at least something to believe. I tried to contact the local church here in China. From the recent experience, I can tell that most of them are controlled by political organizations, and there are also other reasons that I don't feel good at the local church.

I'm currently studying the bible again, not in a chapter-by-chapter manner, but trying to understand the essential parts first. Hopefully, I can also learn more from this website.

I cannot say that I'm a Christian before I understand everything well and baptized.

JS: Welcome and good luck on your journey in Faith. There are many threads in spirituality and scripture that might serve as well as many good examples. Language barriers might be a problem but you seem extremely skilled so you should do fine. I also pray for you that He might give you the gift of reading tongues.

I've finished my Computer Science degree and went back to China for family reasons two years ago. Working here is somehow troublesome, though. For instance, utilizing user's privacy to gain some advantage on business propaganda is called "big data".

As you mentioned, language barriers are a problem here for the Chinese. Although the translation is the best they can offer, some concepts cannot precisely be expressed in Chinese. For example, "right", "just", "power" is sometimes tangled in the Chinese language.

Fortunately, my English is fine. I've got band 8.0 on the IELTS test. I'm planning to go back to work in Germany after I've passed the Goethe C1 test.
