  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Just wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

I am 28, single, no kids, live in NJ with my dog and work as an exec asst to a CEO. I was raised catholic and recently came back to Jesus Christ.

I found that my faith and beliefs matched much more closely to the baptist following and have begun worshipping with a local baptist congregation. Bear with me, I may have a LOT of questions.

My life has always been a lot of ups and downs. Recently, I went through a period that was perhaps the lowest I have ever been. Through my desperation, I experienced an event unlike any other. I remembered God and turned to Jesus Christ to help me. As though someone snapped their fingers, I found my answers through prayer and found His love. I am happy to say that I am getting back on track and walking with Him every step of every day.

I look forward to sharing and learning from all of you!

Welcome to CF.. May God bless you richly..

My return to Jesus happened in much the same way you discribe here.. Seems to me that when we reach that moment of desperation.. when we realize that we just can't do it on our own.. Suddenly.. He is there.. with open arms waiting..

And you know what?? He has been there all along.. waiting.. waiting to welcome us back into His loving arms..

Praise the Lord for bringing you closer to Him! I thought I would share one of my favorite passages in the Bible, one I read whenever I am feeling down.

"Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us." (Romans 5:3-5)
