Israeli Air Force fighter jets launched airstrikes overnight and during Tuesday, targeting Hezbollah military compounds and command posts in the Baalbek area deep in Lebanon.
In response, Hezbollah fired over a hundred rockets towards the Golan Heights on Tuesday morning, some of which were intercepted.
According to the army's statement, the compounds that were hit belonged to Hezbollah squads who were planning to launch several aerial projectiles toward Israel. It also said that the strike was carried out in response to Hezbollah's earlier launching of drones toward the Golan Heights.
