Does anyone have the problem where they overact to little things? I have a huge problem with that, I freak out easy and say alot of things I don't mean to say. Some people forgive me and understand, some don't.

The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

yah, and it's hard when people think bad of you and want nothing to do with you. people see me as over emotional.

Yes, i do this, particulary with anger. I am learning bit by bit to recognize the signs that lead up to this and cantrol my tongue as James 4:1 indicates. But we (any human) always has to be willing to say I have sinned and I am sorry and live with the consequences (SIGH) . My best coping is to recognize the early signs and to tell myself this is out of proportion to reality and fight these thoughts with the help of the Holy Spirit until the excess emotion passe. Then I can deal with the situation truthfully and honestly-I felt hurt when , or I was really upset when. . . But letting the emotion pass allows me to talk about it calmly an dpeacefully. As I have doen this more and more, I find that these emotions do not overwhelm me so easily. BUT I DO NOT THINK I COULD DO THIS WITHOUT THE HELP OF MEDS AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. In my own strength I am far to weak.

That's me in a mood swing. Typically. I'm a fight starter apparently; very hasty, easily angered, irritable, unreasonable. It's happened to me too. I'm learning to notice when it happens and alert my bf and try to think as rationally as possible so that it doesn't escalate. And if it does at least I told someone so that they can keep their distance until it passes.
