Hi, some of you know who I am and others don't. It doesn't really matter though. I'm no one of extreme importance. I do have something to share on this board that I have learned. I think that others could gain from this too. I am not a preacher nor am I trying to pass myself off as one.
This is a testimony of something that happened in my life that I'm sharing. Take it or leave it, it's your choice.
This is about being and walking in light. Again I say that this is not a "Thus says the Lord" thing. This however is wisdom and if you take what I have learned and apply it to yourselves you should greatly benefit in your walk with God.
If you choose not to, I will not judge or condemn you.
I also realize that it's quite possible many of you know and understand this. You walk in it. If you are one of those, I say good for you. You have figured out something before I have. This may just serve as a reminder.
The following I have written in my journal:
Recently I've learned that any darkness is a very bad thing. Keeping secrets is very damaging to living a righteous life. Darrin told me this 2 weeks ago. Since I have left everything in light (which is being willing to tell everything to anyone at any given point, even my sins) everything has been getting so much better. I am free from all addictions that I once had.

I have also learned not to swear to silence before someone tells me something unless it's a surprise party or something. I have found when people do this, it often is slander, gossip, and hurtful. It also puts the darkness that the person has upon yourself and you can't go back to the source to confirm it because you've sworn to silence. Not forgetting that you can't tell anyone else either. As a result, the darkness is stuck on you.
Accountability partners aren't good enough. You have to make your heart willing to be accountable to anyone. Otherwise you can hide (darkness) sins from your accountability partner. Sin flourishes in darkness but cannot exist with light (transparency).
These were my thoughts afterward:
That is what being in light is. I do not say that it's a cure all, but it can fix quite a bit of problems people may have with sin and when others try to put darkness on you.
Doing this is putting on part of the Armour of God. The belt of truth. Putting that on helps you put on the breastplate of righteousness. Since I have put the belt of truth on, I have become more righteous. I remember that this is God's armour and not mine, so we must put humility on us. If we don't, the shining armour that we have can blind us and make us prideful.
God fights against the proud (as I have learned the hard way). It's very easy to think Just one little secret can't hurt, but it can. That's why God doesn't believe in small (or quiet) sins because they are all damaging.
It's when we believe the lies that the enemy tells us that gets us in trouble. Everything must be tested by the word of God. Even the small sin doctrine, which I may add is a doctrine of devils and of man.
Let me know what you think. I may post this elsewhere.
