  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hey, its a new guy, awesome

I just recently joined this entire site and figured this is one of the sub forums I was interested joining. I thought this was the best place to introduce myself.
My name is Matt, I am 19 years old, and have lived in Houston my entire life. I actually lied there, sort of. I live in Abilene 9 months out of the year now going to school at ACU and have no idea what I want to major because I have way too many interests. This summer, it's looking like I might getting a job as a waiter at a Cheddar's.
I am into a lot of things: movies, music, sports, video games, writing, to name a few.
I tend to be laid back about a lot of things (but not all things). I am also a very introverted person, but most people don't realize this until I tell them or they learn it from being around me.
I am looking very much forward to growing closer to God as my life is going through this still relatively new chapter in my life. I try to live out of Him but am like everyone and have shortfalls. I am not really asking for much from Him for my life: I just want a suitable wife and a job that I happy in.

Anything else, ask away.

@ revived. Still waiting to hear back, some issues have delayed their hiring and opening process.

@ Perhaps Today: Fave Movie = Shawshank Redemption (drama), Star Wars (SciFi), Inception (action), Fight Club (thriller), The Day After Tomorrow (disaster), Remember the Titans (sports).... Fave Book: The DaVinci Code (I know its not theologically correct, but its very entertaining)

@chinchillin Yes, sleeping on the bottom bunk of bunk beds. If its a bunk-bed I have to be on top. I am afraid that the wood can just suddenly snap or the bunk (if its in two parts) just breaks and collapses and I end up dead and/or trapped underneath.

Okay, Matt! Here goes:

What's your favorite Bible verse?
What's your favorite book or story in the Bible?
What Biblical character do you feel you relate to the most and why?
Do you have any pets?
What's your family like?
What's your favorite food?
What's your favorite TV show?
What kind of music do you like?
If you could travel anywhere in the world (regardless of money, safety, and legalities) where would you go?
If you could go back in time to any historical time period, when would that be?
What's one item you can't live without?
If you could only eat one thing for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If you could have a dinner party with any 5 people of your choice (alive or dead, real people or fictional characters, basically whoever you want) who would you invite and why?
What's one really embarrassing moment in your life?
