• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Where do we start? I think an excellent book is "The Christ of the Covenants" by O. Palmer Robertson. I also know of a great sermon series on Covenant Theology that is posted online but I am not allowed to post web links (not sure why, but probably because I am new). I just checked and there is both audio and text of them.

CC&E,
You can't post a link for a set number of posts. I bet 25 is the magic number. Why don't you post a couple times on whatever and give it a try? I would love to have a better understanding of Covenant Theology, and a series on it would be great!

Excellent book.

Took an OT Bibliocal Theology course under Palmer a number of years ago. He is a godly and gracious man.

Here is the link to a sermon series on Covenant Theology.

http://www.solochristo.org/

Look on the left side of the page, under "Sermons and Papers" and you'll find Covenant Theology about half-way down.

Do you attend that church?

My husband and I were part of the start up of that church, but no longer live on the left coast. This particular sermon series was done after we had moved away and I had read it over the internet each week.

The king of covenant theology in Pentecost is Malcolm Smith. He has been teaching this for about 35 years now. He has a site called "Unconditional love." Has a lot of material on the subject. There is also a free library of some of his work.

Pastor Trevor Chandler is another great covenant teacher in the Pentecostal movement.

Very cool. A family that I am close to attended that church for a while (and I went there for a graduation thingy).
