Hey everybody, I hope you're having a great time wherever you're at. Just so you would know (if you haven't looked at my profile), I'm agnostic.
I used to be a Christian, until I swayed away from it, I came to stand up as an agnostic, question many things, and begin to learn about people's way of their inner life and beliefs. I'm learning about many religions and how they affected the world, vice versa, learn the different ways and styles of life, and learn about how people view the most precious things in life.
During my Christian phase, my parents never allowed me to be baptized nor go to church as I asked. They didn't like my beliefs (they're atheists), and I grew up usually very hard-hearted and resistant. However, as of now, I'm not following their steps of their beliefs, and I'm being more open of what people think, even if I believe that their ignorance is high.
Undoubtedly and so far, I came to see that monotheists (Christians, Islam) focus on an entity that's considered high and almighty, more about tradition and law. While others (Zen, Buddhists) focus on their inner self and learn about themselves, more about the pleasures of the now and life, while learning within themselves, wherever the within is at.
I suppose you can say I'm educating myself, just sort of a self teaching. I usually keep my morals, ethics, and what I think right and wrong out of arguments and conversations, so I usually stick to the harmful/harmless approach when judging. Personally, I'll tell you, what I came to believe in is that every person desires some kind of unification, while continuing to be an individual. I say, it's hard to be both, ha.
This is just my opinion, it's what I came to learn and based from experience what I came to believe. I don't know about you, but I'm sure you have different ones.
Have a great day.
