Who is your faith hero; someone who's faith and actions have inspired you? (Don't say Jesus, smarty, that's a given ).

For myself, I would definately have to say my grandmother; she's the reason I'm where I am now. And St. Jude (my patron, one of the Twelve).

I don't know if I'm just too selfish or something but I just don't look up to anyone's faith... Sure I sometimes have moments when I can't help but admire someone's faith or courage or whatever, but those moments pass by and the next day it's something else I see in some other person. I just fail to have some figure that I'd keep looking at every day and always see an example in them... Sometimes I wish I could have one though.

I would have to say Eric Liddel. Here is a man who is a world class athlete, who refuses to race in an Olympic race because it is on Sunday. Then he go to China as a missionary and dies on the mission field. Not to mention I am named after him. (my middle name is Eric)

Yevgeny Rodionov is mine. He was a russian who was captuared by islamic chechens, he was held for 3 months and refused to denounce his faith or remove his cross from his neck. On his 19th birthday he was exacuted. Some russian soldiers have taken this prayer "Thy martyr, Yevgeny, O Lord, in his sufferings has received an incorruptible crown from thee, our God, for having thy strength he has brought down his torturers, has defeated the powerless insolence of demons. Through his prayers save our souls." powerful stuff

Though he may not be a Christian, as far as I know, my hero, besides Jesus, is Jesse Lacey. If you want to know why, simply listen to the songs he's written, especially 'Jesus.' Lacey is a lyrical genius, and the band he's in, Brand New, has gotten me through so much stuff. Their songs are the most incredible there are, and Jesse Lacey's lyrics mean a lot to me.
