People who go on "vacation" often leave their brains at home. I work at a theme park. Some examples:
In traffic leading to the park, it is not uncommon to see cars make a left turn from the right turn lane. People often stop in the middle of the road to review their maps.
On park, you often see long lines of people leading to a ride, show, or restaurant. Go up to someone and ask them what they are in line for and you'll hear many say: "I don't know, but with this many people in line, it must be something good."
Our park is located over a very large cave to which tours are given. A frequent question is: "How long did it take you to build this cave?" Another- "Does it get dark when you turn out the lights?"
Some of our shows utilize projections on a screen. People will try to take flash pictures of what is being projected. I guess they don't realize that the flash will wash out the image on the screen and that they will have nothing in their photos except a white screen. On the subject of flash photos, at sporting events in a large stadium, you often see thousands of flash cameras going off when, for example, Barry Bonds or Albert Pujols step up to the plate. Do people not realize that a flash is only useful on subjects up to 14-16 feet away, and beyond that, the flash has no effect? In fact, the automatic settings working in association with the flash will render a photo that is much worse in quality than if no flash had been used.
Come on people, when you go on vacation, please take your common sense with you. Remember, it may be vacation to you, but to someone else, it's home.
Sorry, this is supposed to be a humorous thread, but the inanities I see get to me sometimes. Forgive me.
