Oscar Wilde is one of my very favourite authors! Have you read the one about the giant's garden?

Nope, frankly never read anything by Wilde till Bud posted that tale.

For some reason I have some unknown negative prejudice on Wilde and I have absolutely no clue why:doh:. I know nothing about him. Better check wiki to see what's up.

I can probably tell you. I adore his writing but the man himself was something else altogether & my kids get on my case because I still like him as a writer. He was married with 2 little boys & 'caused a huge scandle with a very public affair with a Lord's faired-haired boy. He landed in jail with hard labour & exciled himself to France after, divorced & disgraced, where he died in penury. However his fairy tales are still amongst the lovliest ever written & there is a strong Christian flavour to many of them as in the Happy prince & the one about the garden.

Ya wonder how someone with such a rep for debauchery is able to write something as good as the Happy Prince.

I read the wiki and am familiar with the Dorian Gray story, saw a couple movies done from this.

I read Dorian Grey while going through Europe & always thought it was a quite unintentional take on Wilde himself. Mind you, given some of the drivel so called Christian writers put out it's just as well the old pagans do such a good job on Christian themes. I'll forgive much for a story well told...
