Here is one of the clearest tests of discipleship - love. Men and women outside of Jesus Christ, looking on, must sometimes wonder what on earth are we doing. They see our different churches, our many denominations and our suspicion of each other. Is it any wonder that so many are confused and bewildered? If we really lived the way Jesus commanded us to live, then there would be somehting of a revolution in the world as people recognised this spirit of love binding us together in a way that no human explanation could adequately account for. What are your thoughts on this?

"Your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are my desciples" - John 13:31-35 & 14:21-24

34“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”

Can we love one another without standing on the Word of God as our directive of truth? Division is the result of chaos that is created when we do things out of God's order.

And if we would place Jesus Christ and the Word that is Him FIRST, yes even ahead of our beliefs and experiences, then we would all be aligned with His Word and with one another.

Rightly dividing the Word entails getting HIS DISCERNMENT because HE is the AUTHOR. But too many of us, just like nonbelievers, want to use our own interpretation because it allows us to do and believe what we want instead of what HE SAYS. :(

Well, I for one have a pretty good understanding of what you are doing.

They see our different churches, our many denominations and our suspicion of each other.

Sure we do.

I wouldn't call it "confused and bewildered". The words "amused and disillusioned" might be closer.

If we really lived the way Jesus commanded us to live, then there would be somehting of a revolution in the world as people recognised this spirit of love binding us together in a way that no human explanation could adequately account for. What are your thoughts on this?

You've been trying to live the way Jesus commanded you to live for 2000 years. Hasn't happened, won't happen. Somebody said it has something to do with "free will". So there won't be a revolution.

But if you ever could, most people would think you were probably Humanists.

Flesh that is forever at enmity with God cannot make itself live as Jesus commanded. Jesus Christ must be allowed to live through us in spirit. It is only through Him that those commands are kept. Outside of Him, we'll fall every time.

In 2000 years, I would suppose that there was never a Christian who thought that he was going to be perfect and live EXACTLY the way Jesus commanded...at least not until we come into His full glory.

The Jesus Christ in me lives the way He commands every day.

I have a defective personality and don't "love" anyone.

If your personality were truly defective, would you ask the question ?

The concept is meaningless to me.

If it's meaningless to you, then you have to know what it is. It can't be meaningless unless you know what it is.

I do understand "hate" and have rejected it.

You cannot undersatnd hate without understanding love.

Is that sufficient or am I predestined to Hell? (Note - have "invited Jesus . . . " several times and been baptized twice)

You're destined for hell if you haven't accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You can invite Him all you want. He knows your heart and knows when you're playing games.
