Watching our oldest child begin to come out of her shell, under the care of a fantastic 4th grade teacher, who identified her as gifted and put her into advanced programming, this fall. Read below for why this happy, extroverted child had closed herself into a shell.
What has been your worst moment in 2006?
We realized, last spring, that our child's 3rd grade teacher was skapegoating her, belittling her, and allowing other kids to bully her. Worse, we also realized that we had sided with the teacher for over half of the school year, and that our child had been telling us the truth.

Isn't anyone who has more than the basic necessities in their home? Seriously, aren't humans by nature collectors? Just look around your home and ask if you need more than one chair, one bed, one plate, on cup, etc. per person who is there.

So, yes, I am a collector of stuff.

And I admire those who aren't.

Right now you should see my collection of Christmas decorations!

Easy, ornaments. I had an aunt and uncle who gave me a Hallmarck Christmas ornament every year, so that when I was on my own for the first time, I'd have enough to cover a small tree. Good idea for anyone to do for a kid.

I especially like the one that is an igloo with an Eskimo and his dog inside, if I put it in front of a light, the igloo ice gets very sparkley.

Depends on how you look at it. Everything from where I am has a layover in either Minneapolis or Denver. So, it's fairly short to those places, but with the layover, and the next stop, it could run long. Nothing as long as going overseas, though. Though, I have done a few runs to Hawaii, and that is just about as long as going to Europe anyway.
