• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I have an obsessive thinking problem with my eyes. I think im gonna some how take them out. I guess like reach in there grab hold and pull them out. Is that even possible? Wouldnt you pass out from the pain before you even got close? I know there are 6 muscles holding them there and the optic nerve. Ive had this obsession for almost a year. And sometimes I mess with my eyes too.

Having an obsessive thought about somthing is often about not wanting to obsess about a thing, then we are held in fear, you cant be frightened of a thing if you have no fear of it, this is the worst thing you can think of and you are frightened that you may do it, even though you know deep down that you will not do it, i.e I may do it becouse i am so frightened not to and without that fear I may do it, this is called being held by fear, understand this and you will lose your fear and not worry anymore. Its a little complicated but Ive seen this in many people.
