• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

:) hi folks.im in a pickle.its my mind playing up maybe.im so complex.well here goes.when i was real ill someone said it not good as a chrisatin to watch secular tv an play the music i usually do.i took this all on board as im like that.i didnt know it was wrong.i check it out an apparantly music can be satanic an so can tv.all linked to new world order.its scared me totally.is the NWO thing true? either way im stuck.i miss my tv an music now.i have turn it all off.son still has his stuff as i keep my worrys from him.i have no mates.dont go out.apart from bit of faith tv the secular stuff cheered me up abit.can i switch on an just be aware that im not slipping from the lord.i havent any hobbies either.:pray:

The first thing I want to say is does Christ make us free or should we still be slaves to do and don't do - right and wrong?

To watch TV because your life is empty and you want something easy to do - is not wise - for then we are unguarded and get drawn into wrong much easier - like agreeing with the wrong your favourite star is doing because you like him or her.


However if there is a good movie - why not watch it if you feel like that or want to do that? What can be more wrong with that than go to school, work, supermarket, train-station, Restaurant or whatever and get polluted by the world there?

Sure there is much wrong out there - so - search out all things and hold onto what is right - applies here as well.

Don't be scared of your conscious(Rev 12) - when it is not clean go to Jesus and let Him cleanse it once more - don't heed it though - crystal clean works much better (Rev 4)

I say for freedom Christ has set us free. If you feel like relaxing and watching a nice movie or show and thank Jesus for that - no-one can accuse you of wrong, and if you are doing it wrong then Christ's gracious love, which your thankfulness brings alive within you, will teach you what to do about that.

However please do not use your freedom to stay stuck in the world but let Jesus love guide you - in all your ways - He will lead you home!

No sacrifice but mercy says the Word!

Just love God for the freedom you have been given and see what your thankfulness reaps for harvest within your heart - where you freely choose what you do or don't do.


(By the way I haven't watched telly in 16 years and haven't missed it whatsoever, though I used to watch it daily for years. Sometimes I watch a good movie but rarely do I enjoy it. The problem I found is that Hollywood has little idea how to do good!)
