I have an ongoing debate with a kid at school about evolution.
He's presenting some pretty good arguments and he's kicking my butt, can anyone help?!

Isn't this more of a scientific question than a theological one?

Make him stick to a literal Genesis 1.
- Genesis 1 pwns evolution.
- Genesis 1:1 pwns atheism.
- Genesis 1:1a pwns abiogenesis.

That's what we're looking for, isn't it?Its arguing from a conclusion.
That's what we're looking for, isn't it?
A conclusion?
Or is our goal to yak all day long?
I heard God's Word won't return void.Well, yes. It would be pretty ridiculous to quote the Bible to prove Creationism to an atheist, wouldn't it? Why do you assume this kid outdoor_engineer is arguing with is a Christian?
I heard God's Word won't return void.
One man plants, another waters, but God gives the increase ---Ok, well this kid probably disagrees with you. If outdoor_engineer quotes the Bible at him, he'll just be laughed at and everyone will take it as a concession, I imagine.
You're right. We LOOKING FOR a conclusion. If we already agreed on that conclusion, people wouldn't have this debate. That's what we're looking for, isn't it?

Hi,
The problem with these type of debates are that you need to prove the unseen and the other party uses the seen to prove their view which is way easier. You are a light in the darkness, don't let the darkness put out your light, stay with the Bible, because it is the truth!no matter what the world tells you!
You probably know that by His stripes we ARE healed, sometimes you see people who are told by the world they have cancer and they only have 3 months left to live, then by laying hands on them these people gets healed by Jesus instantly, so when you look at these events, what was the real truth? the seen facts given by the doctors with all their tests or Jesus who said we are healed by His stripes, the unseen facts?
This is where faith comes in, you do not need faith with the seen........it is written that it is impossible to please God without faith and that the righteous live by faith.....you will find that people reject faith, because they are afraid they will be seen as ignorant or narrow minded, don't let them get to you my friend, give him his small time of glory by being the humble one, not saying you must accept his theology, but just so that he can feel as if he won.....take on these debates when you have done your research, evolution is not the truth, only a theory, because it is very difficult to observe evolution and you must remember that adaptation is also a form of evolution, the only problem you should have is with macro evolution, the other types are fine.
Hopes this help you a bit, be blessed!![]()
