  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

i try to tell them about the temple of bable and that god took man and put him all over the world, and make them speak different, so that they can never come togather again

Hi, I am not exactly sure of your question. You may want to rephrase it and if you are asking two questions. Show two questions with question marks. That would help a lot.

You are probably familiar with the book of John.

Here is a bit from Chapter 1:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was with God in the beginning.
3Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4In him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood[a] it.

This shows not just only that Jesus always was and existed, but that he was with the Father as well who always was also.

I don't know if this helped any. Just feel free to tell me that wasn't what you were looking for and I'll try to find the answers.

Blessings,
tapero:hug:

ETA: She revised her post, and let me know, so my answer is way off topic now.

Hi, yes, we have always prayed to God. I can't think of a verse to support that though. We who believe in God, and those Old Testament saints spoke or prayed to God.

Yes, he did give men different tongues and scattered men.

I don't know that scripture says he did this so that they can never come together though.

The only people on the earth that were left after the flood were Noah and his sons. And they knew God and prayed to God. But the sons of theirs sons (some of them) became wicked and turned away from God. Some generations perhaps didn't even know about the true God, so they started praying to different spirits/gods/ and started making idols.

At some point, after people multiplied, God chose Abraham and showed him the right way to worship the true God. After that, the nation of Israel (Abraham's children, at least some of them) were worshiping the real true God. Other nations were worshipping idols.

After Jesus Christ came to earth and after He died on the cross and rose again, and after he went back to Heaven, then He came to Paul in a vision and told Paul to tell about Him to all the nations. So at this time, not only Israel nation was believing in the true God, but also people from other nations, to whom the Christ was preached and who believed in Him.

I am not sure if this is what you wanted, but I hope it helps. I am not sure which verses you wanted.

Basically, the creation of the world and Israel nation is written about in Genesis to Exodus (Judaism). The Christian faith is in Gospels and Epistles.

Honesty is always the best policy if they have sincere questions and you should use a little wisdom to avoid argumentative questions.

As you stated the native indians prayed to all kinds of things, so in there own mind they were doing right but from God's point of view they were not praying to him, but God knows the hearts of all men and if one person wanted to truly know Him He would make it available for them to know him somehow or someway.

Post # 4 is a pretty good answer also.

So I guess you answer is No they didn't pray to the true God, very few even today do, even among socalled Christianity, some pray to saints, or people or pray not directly to God the Father but to Jesus or Jesus Christ, all these is done in error, maybe not intentianally but nevertheless it is practiced by many who refuse to change their ways, it's called idolitry, and there are many idolotrous Christians today.

Psalm 139 ... no matter where we are He is there with us ...

Indirectly ... the great spirit , the creator of all , is God .. your ancestors effort to explain creation & what pleases God is what Paul speaks about
Romans 1:20
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.
Romans 1:19-21 (in Context) Romans 1 (Whole Chapter)

Perhaps they have prayed of him ... but God is a personal God , drawn by our prayers , approached through Jesus , the person , a relationship -- Romans 10.8-17

God always answers ... yes , no , or slow

I’m not to clear on your question, so forgive me if this is not the type of answer you are seeking…

We have been created in the image of God; characteristics that God instilled into us reflect His very nature. God creates - we create, God loves – we love, God listens to the cry of His children – we listen to the cry of our fellow human, God prays – we pray. There is much we can learn about God once we understand His character, to understand His character, we need to study His word, our nature, and His creation.

Are our prayers important to God? You bet. You need scripture reference? Start here; http://www.biblegateway.com/topical/topical_resource.php?source=1&tid=3935

God has made things plain to all mankind:
Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes– his eternal power and divine nature– have been clearly seen, because they are understood through what has been made. So people are without excuse.

But how did all mankind treat God?

Romans 1:21 For although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but they became futile in their thoughts and their senseless hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image resembling mortal human beings or birds or four-footed animals or reptiles. 24 Therefore God gave them over in the desires of their hearts to impurity, to dishonor their bodies among themselves. 25 They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

Paul in Romans then proceeds to show everyone is guilty of sin, and that everyone - including Jews - are in need of salvation. That salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
