So my mom decided that Season 3 would be a good time to "get into" LOST. So needless to say she's beyond confused but she really is enjoying it.

So they are here to visit for a 2 weeks and she asked that since we have all 3 seasons on DVD whether or not we could watch some "key" episodes to try and giver her some good back story on what she's missed (ya right).

So I'm wondering if you guys could help me come up with 4-5 key episodes throughout seasons 1-3 that would give her a "decent" idea of what might be going on.

Have a marathon or lend her the DVDs....;)

Not trying to give ya a hard time, but I agree, there's so much detail...about everyone. This show has main characters, but ....even the "not main" characters have so much detail....

I know you know all of this well, since you've seen it all and even go to other websites. Good luck is probably the best I can say. And BenAdam gave good suggestions.

Okay, two weeks is 14 days, figure at least 3 weekend days, so 11 weeknights.

3 hours per weeknight = 33 hours
8 hours per weekend day = 24 hours

You have 57 hours available for Lost viewing, minus commercial time missing from the DVDs, plus bathroom breaks. That's a good head-start! :p

.

She needs to see at least one backstory for every major character, I think, except maybe Ana-Lucia, Boone, and Shannon. You can catch her up on them easily enough.

I would suggest going to Lostpedia and printing all the info from the main characters. Jack, Ben, Juliet, Sawyer, Kate, Desmond, Locke, Sun, Jin, Jacob, Smoky, the boaties, and
even Michael and Walt
.

I started at the season 2 finale and I was alright (and I had some friends).

I can't believe Walkabout and Deus Ex Machina don't merit an honorable mention.
