Help me design my new tattoo

So it's my birthday this weekend (hooray!!!) and my present to myself is going to be a new tattoo. I've decided it's going to be a lotus blossom on the top of my foot. I'm a yoga teacher so it's significant, and I just really like lotus blossoms, I think they're beautiful. So anyway, my husband designed a kick booty one with a peace sign in the middle and I really like it. I'm leaning towards that, but I've also seen ones with yin yangs, the "om" symbol, and nothing at all in the middle that I like too.
So here's my question, what should I put in the middle of my lotus tattoo?

Im jealous personally (I want a cross with a dove but my loving hub wont let me as he's dead set against...nothing to do with religion...just doesnt want to be married to a biker chick...though he's into bikes )

Unfortunately I don't have a pic uploaded of the one my husband drew, but if you picture the yin yang one with a peace sign instead it's pretty much like that .

I think if she became a raging fundamentalist in the future, a tattoo would be the last thing she'd want.

To me (but my exposure is limited), the om symbol is a little rarer and therefore (at least the way I think) more desirable.

The first one is prettier in my opinion...

However I still say do something that is special to you...as considering its permanent you'll be living with it the rest of your life.

I suggest not getting another tattoo at all. Be different and go for a branding (or some other less well-know art of body modification) instead.

That's what my hubby wants us to do. I'm way to wimpy to do it.

ProgressiveGal, I can't say which you should get. I like the idea of having a tattoo that my husband designed it would mean a great deal to me.

It should be something which I can love through the ages and through the fads I go through ... maybe some time some symbol or iage will speak to me and then I might get one!

Is there an age limit to getting tatoos? I mean, with age the skin deteriorates, maybe after a certain age tatoos are just not possible?

Well, age is also a biological reality! Skin loses it's collagene with age, thus I believe it is possible that someone's skin might be too inelastic or pliable to have tatoos applied?
