I might be able to help..
I've tried an endless row of 'useful freeware programs' over the years. What I find is that 90 % of these only give you another problem, complicating your system even more, and in some cases, you're lucky if they work at all.
I found one:
EasyCleaner is a nice product.
It has a registry cleaner, and I suggest you run that one first. This registry cleaner is safe to use, and I suggest you delete all the invalid registry entries it finds. This will clean up your system a little bit. If you don't know much about the registry, ask away.
The built-in uninstaller has a a tendency to pick up more than the windows uninstaller.
Also, though I can't recall this excactly, there is a 'startup process device' built-in. You may want to check this out, and if it's there, just delete the entries for the programs you wish to be removed.
Remember to do the registry backup first, no hassle though, you will be prompted for that as you run the program the first time.
EasyCleaner is a 'lightweight' program, by that I mean it doesn't eat your system resources, doesn't demand constant access to the net, doesn't make you accept additional third-party programs.
There are many functions on this program, as you will see. Most of these are functions that can be found in windows, but the thing is you'll have to look around for them, and that may be a frustrating task. I give it 9/10.
