Help for a new Christian who says their house is haunted.

Hello,
I have a relative who just became a Christian this year & this last week
they were very upset & told me that they believe that the apartment
they are living in is haunted. They are really afraid, say that they wake
up with doors slamming, seeing shadows, wake up with severe fear &
anxiety. This person is really very serious. What scriptures do I give them
& what can I say to them, that will help get rid of this fear?

They need to just call on God and bring a group of believers, and have group prayer. God is bigger than all that. So they have to put their fear aside, and walk in that trust and confidence in God.

They have been praying & asking God to make it go away. I think that's a good idea about having some believers go over & have group prayer with them!

I suggest they exercise their authority. Demons can manifest themselves that way because they are mad they are loosing ground but they can only go as far as you let them/give them permission. I’d open doors and windows and tell them to leave, but when they tell the demon(s) to leave to think as if a theif was really inside the house and they are throwing him out with authority. While doing that also declare that that family and that place belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ and the darkness doesn't have a part in their lives and property. Pray for angels to come guard the apartment; every door and every window.

For a few days have a radio on with worship music, even while the apartment is empty. It helps keep the demonic away, they hate worship music, and it also brings angels around because they love worship music.

They have been asking God to take it away, quoting scriptures outloud. Great advice to have a group of believers go over to pray with them. Thanks!

Strength in numbers!

Also, they need to get into their Word. Usually, that fear is coming out of doubts and uncertainty and instances like these plays into it. But once they get more acquainted and equip themselves with Truth, that fear and its stumbling blocks will fade away and they will gain confidence in God. Get a few scriptures in hand, Psalm 23 pops out in my mind right away as one.

If it truly is infested by dark forces, a Catholic priest can come and bless the apartment. That may be enough to get the job done. If it's a real infestation, this is a tricky issue and things shouldn't be left to chance.
