  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

OKay, I know this isn't the most appealing topic, but this is a drastic delima!

God help me...Does anyone know how to get rid of dog gas?

It's not just little "poofs" every so often that don't smell that bad. But we're talking about 100's of farts a day, that just get up your nose that make you scream "OH MY WORD!!!" I know it can't be her diet, because my other dog eats the same thing.

I just had to ask someone about this if anyone can help I'd appericate it!

Ha ha I'll try and send you a picture of my little fart blossom later!

This was a problem in our household. We had 4 boxers that could make it darn near uninhabitable by human beings.

I switched them to another dog food, and the problem went away. Now there is only the occasional foul moment. Before, it was like living in a tank of hydrogen sulfide.

"People food" tends to do this to dogs.

The foods I have had good luck with are high protein. "Old Roy" high protein is reasonably priced, available at Walmart, and has really cleared the air around here.

I try not to give her people food (my dad does sometimes:doh: ) and yeah an occasional piece of bread comes her way! haha. I'll have to try that out. Do you know if Beneful is bad or good? (just wondering) we've been giving her the store brand of WinnDixie so that could be it?

Thanks for your help on that one! I do feel for you (4 of them?! haha)

You know, I really need to drive down to PetSmart and see if they have that ROFL.

BTW, is it PETS MART....OR PET SMART?...I've always said Smart, because the deals are so good, you're smart to go there, but I mean it is the pets, mart?...I have no clue. I would ask them, but they don't like me down there (Used to work there, but I had to quit because of school and band :()

What is your dog eating? Just because the other dog eats the same thing, doesn't mean it's not the food. This one could have different allergies, digestive issues, etc.
I will admit I personally have very strong and definite ideas about feeding dogs that are slightly out of the mainstream. I have three dogs that are all fed an entirely raw, whole foods diet containing no grain. I do not believe that it is appropriate for dogs to eat grain and they are what often causes bloat in dogs, and could be responsible for the gas.
If I was somehow forced to feed kibble to my dogs I would not consider any of the brands mentioned due to their low-quality ingredients. They are mostly made of fillers and waste products from the human food industry that are not good for the dogs overall health. The low percentage of meat they contain is often rendered (which means it can contain all kinds of disturbing things) and mostly byproducts, not whole, high quality meat. Some better brands include Wysong, Innova, Canidae, etc. If you do a google seach for Holistic dog foods you can find more info. But again, I personally would not feed any kibble to a dog becasue it is a grain based diet. If you are interested in more details, sources, etc. I can send you an email that goes into more depth.

I guess you have a point about the two different dogs not having the same digestive system. But i dont' want to spend a lot of money getting her special food (It's not that I don't love her, it's just that it tends to get expensive as it is already.) Am I suppossed to feed her a lot of canned food? Because then that makes them have the runs (Well Alpo that is...I mean maybe the other kinds as well, but the canned makes her toot as well.)

I appericate the offer of you e-mailing me information. I need all I can get haha!
