  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello folks, My name is David and I am from the Midlands of South Carolina. Columbia is the Capital with rich history. Many parks in the area have Civil War history and when roaming the parks, the imagination can really be exercised. I am a veteran of the Navy and I have been fortunate to be able to retire early after working in the Information Technology field. I've lived many places and since I was raised here, I think I've always eventually returned here to the Columbia area.

Hi David,
We live in Dalzell just north of Sumter. We have a son with his family in Lexington, which is pretty close by to you. Also a son and his family in Elgin and a daughter who lives with her family up in Lancaster. We lived in Great Falls for 21 years. We have moved around for some years from Newberry, Greenwood, Fripp Island, and Beaufort. We have enjoyed SC for almost 50 years now. My youngest son worked at USC for years.
