Hi ya all! I am a 35 year old man from Perth, Australia. I have been a Christian all my life but did not take it seriously until 24 years of age by which time I accepted Presbyterianism as a faith. I am a great Elvis fan and honestly I believe him to be a Presbyterian icon. I live a hard life but God has always been there for me through the very worst of it. I am well educated, in fact too educated for easy employment it seems (5 university degrees and a lifetime of short contract work tenures).
During my long path of self discovery I did research and experience other religions. I have understood the mentalities of atheists, Satanists, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, Scientologists, Wicca and others by attending services organized by them and doing a lot of reading. I am a philosopher by hobby and in fact even published a book which is free to download @ http : / / bookbooster . com / newage.htm
It is a charity based book but despite its vast readership only $20 have been donated to its cause so far - it received a 5/5 star rating by Indigo Quill and the 'online book club' gave it a 4/4 star rating - superb!

OFFICIALLY THE MOST ELOQUENT STORY TELLING POETRY BOOK EVER WRITTEN
-ALL NON FICTION- (mind the spaces in the URLs above)
Anyway, that is enough about the eBook, I enjoy reading scripture on a part-time fortnightly basis in active bible study sessions I still go to. Church for me is important as a 1-2 weekly routine because it honours God and displays gratitude for the show of life. The hardest thing for me is living in such an atheist biased nation such as Australia, the churches are empty here for the most part. Don't get me wrong, Australia is a blessed nation but somewhere along the track of its development people generally lost touch with God here.
I have friends from various walks of life and currently I am a carer for my poor old mother whilst looking for full-time work again. What I found is that no matter how bad things may be there is always something that can bring a smile to one's face - life is to be enjoyed and so I try to stay happy. With mid-life crisis just around the corner I am doing my best to be prepared for it - I will manage it just fine I think, albeit still single. I shall attempt to visit this site quite regularly because the philosophy forums I have been attending online over the many years are getting a bit dry.
For those interested in some scientific proof of God's existence (provided you have a technical mind) I would recommend the book "The Physics of Immortality - by F. J. Tipler". The unseen world can be vastly explained by dark matter and parallel universes and I, like many individuals, have sighted genuine miracles in 1-2 occasions in life (I just wish I had a camera at the time but I guess it's all in God's plan so as to keep a balance in faiths out there).
Anyway, my name is Lex, nice meeting you all!
