  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I am so happy to be a new member. I am a Christian Dog Lover. I have a dog named Coal. I enjoy using him to serve my God. He is a Delta Society Pet Partner. Hi Sheltie Lover! I've seen some of your posts! I liked the advice you gave that one person about using the fruits of the spirit to train your dog. I think Shelties are very nice Dogs. How many Shelties do you have? What fun do you have with them? I have a lot of fun with Coal. Not only do I do therapy work, but I take him to the dog park. I take him to doggie festivals in the spring. I take him to music festivals too. When he was six months old, a little girl at a Folk festival we were attending hugged my dog. My dog then licked her baby brother on the foot. I have taken my dog to visit sick children and he licks their faces. I hope to take him to another childen's hospital in the near future. He is so lovable and sweet natured. He will turn 8 years of age on March 16th. He's a Saint Paddy's Day Puppy! (Almost) :D On his fifth birthday, I went on a cruise and while he was at the doggie resort, he got a massage. I'm still too new to show you Coal's picture. :( Perhaps I could try sending you his pic to your private e-mail box. We seem to have a lot in common. Ta ta for now.

Hello Janet! You just can't ever go wrong if you strive to live the "Fruits of the Spirit" no matter where you are or what you are doing!

You certainly do a lot with your dog. I admire therapy dogs and their owners. Right now I only have one Sheltie and one Border Collie. My Sheltie is my 7th, however. The others are waiting for me in Heaven, along with some other breeds of dog-best-friends! :) My Sheltie certainly has the sweet, friendly nature to be a therapy dog too--she LOVES everybody!

I would love to see a picture of Coal!

Hi, its great to hear back from you! I love Border Collies too. I love the big Scottish dogs. Are you Scottish or part Scottish by any chance? Its funny that the dogs thatI love the most have the same background as me. I especially love Golden Retrievers. They are Scottish dogs too. I plan to get one as my next dog. I will definately use it for therapy work as they have the perfect sweetest compassionate nature. One more post, and I'll be able to show you a picture of my dog. Thanks for writing back.

Yes, I'm half-breed Scottish-Irish (but all-American)! That's right, I hadn't thought about my ancestry being connected with the breeds of dogs I love best. Good thought, and in this case, absolutely correct.

I had a wonderful Golden Retriever named Sandy, who is now in Heaven, running and happily waiting for me to arrive. Tremendous dogs, Goldens!

Wow! You're amazing. You had a Golden Retriever too. I hope to be getting one of my own when things wind down. I think their sweet loving natures are so much like Jesus. This is why I look forward to doing more Therapy with my next dog. They are the greatest. I hope you enjoy the picture of Coal I sent you.
