It's pretty hard to get anyone to believe they need a Savior if they don't believe there is anything to be saved from.HELL IS NOT A SECRET TO BE KEPT
Well said! It's pretty hard to get anyone to believe they need a Savior if they don't believe there is anything to be saved from.
You are correct. Sad that so many have been drinking Satan's ecumenical water of death in these latter days. Sound doctrine is being vacated like never before...There's no question that God's Word teaches the existence of hell, a spiritual place with eternal separation from God. Churches are too timid. They don't preach and teach about it because we tend to be people pleasers who are afraid to offend people. We should preach it when the Bible text say so.
It's a little like trying to convince an atheist of the deity of Jesus Christ.Well said!
Kirk Cameron has begun falling away?I recommend "Hell's Best Kept Secret" by Ray Comfort. Not with Kirk Cameron, who has begun his falling away, but the older recordings.
Kirk Cameron has begun falling away?
(Thank you for the recommendation).
Yes, so true. It's a little like trying to convince an atheist of the deity of Jesus Christ.
You probably ought to take it a step at a time.
No problem. Though I don't agree with all of what Ray Comforts says... when I first came to Christ I used one of His books that was very helpful to me. "The 10 Cannons of God's Law". Back in 1993-94 my friend and I were witnessing to the young people out on the streets on Friday and Saturday night and this book was very helpful. It teaches how to use the 10 commandments to show them how they are sinners who needed a savior. Which also verifies the verse in Galatians that says the law is our Schoolmaster to bring us to Christ.I apologize to the OP for veering slightly off topic.
...that being said, we cannot ignore the wrath of God.The early church operated as a family community.
You will see from John 17 that the visible unity of believers was to be a prime evidence of God's grace, attracting folks into the Kingdom.
Today we are light years from this, and now on top of that we are to preach hell?
'Converts' then are confronted by a loveless vacuum and the seed withers and dies.
We have it all backwards.
Folks are looking for release from a life of Hell here on earth.
They long for a loving family and that is what the body of Christ is meant to be.
Sure the reality of Hell can be a wake up call for some, but the evidence of the loving healing heart of Jesus is meant to be central to our evangelism.
Why is the loving healing community Jesus spoke of largely absent?
Because the cost of denying self and reaching out to others is high, and modern life has brainwashed us into looking out for Number One.
What Jesus prayed for, we deny.
Instead of His Body of love we choose to live in the 'Hell' we have created, and have NOTHING to offer those seeking Him.
Great verse! Those who preach a false hell almost always preach UR (universal reconciliation), they seem to go hand in hand. but that verse pretty much contradicts all their versions of UR. Another one they have no answer for......that being said, we cannot ignore the wrath of God.
John 3:36
He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
Be blessed.

I will agree with you here....."Sure the reality of Hell can be a wake up call for some, but the evidence of the loving healing heart of Jesus is meant to be central to our evangelism.".......
Watching TBN helped me grow when I came back to the Lord. But as I grew I began to realize how wishy washing they often were when it came to presenting the gospel clearly and correctly..........And now he has a show on TBN, which was founded by obvious heretics...........
As I said...
"Sure the reality of Hell can be a wake up call for some, but the evidence of the loving healing heart of Jesus is meant to be central to our evangelism."
The Gospel is the Good News, not the Bad News.
Avoiding death and living in heavenly places is not enough to make you want to accept this gift of life? Only after hearing that you will be burned alive if you choose not to accept Jesus, would you choose to accept Him?It's pretty hard to get anyone to believe they need a Savior if they don't believe there is anything to be saved from.
This thread is about the message of Hell and how that fits with the Good News of the GospelThe Law is the bad news, the Gospel the good news.
How can we know what sin is ,and how great a gift salvation is without the equal knowledge of both?
