  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Jesus is the only sacrifice for sins, if you reject that sacrifice, then there remains no other sacrifice for sins! After those Hebrews had received the knowledge of the truth about Jesus' once for all sacrifice for sins forever, they went back to the temple and continued offering animal sacrifices which were no good. These particular people who committed this willful sin were not christians, they had mental accent about Christ, but they didn't go all the way and accept this truth and instead went back to offer animal sacrifices.

"there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins"...

UM. WHAT? I don't get it.

Lets read the whole verse: "For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins"

Sin willfully; That is continue to sin, this is a person that deliberate renounces Christ, refuses salvation, and rejects the Holy Spirit. This is premeditated apostasy, and leads to the unpardonable sin (Matt. 12:31,32).

Now, lets be clear in this; Paul explained that before sinners have received the knowledge of the truth God winks at their ignorance (Acts 17:30). Before the light of truth shines into men's hearts God does not hold them accountable for the darkness that prevails there (Jn. 15:22 and many more).

God loves sinners, and indeed, sent His Son to save them; But when light comes and men choose darkness instead, they stand self-condemned before God (Jn. 3:19), and "there remaineth no more sacrifice for their sins"
