  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Heb 10:1 & Lev 1:1-4 'shadow'

Hebrews 10:1
For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect.

Leviticus 1:1-4
Now the LORD called to Moses, and spoke to him from the tabernacle of meeting, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When any one of you brings an offering to the LORD, you shall bring your offering of the livestock—of the herd and of the flock.
‘If his offering is a burnt sacrifice of the herd, let him offer a male without blemish; he shall offer it of his own free will at the door of the tabernacle of meeting before the LORD. Then he shall put his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on his behalf to make atonement for him.

In Hebrews 10:1 it states that the law was a shadow of Christ (a shadow is a outline of something else, in this case the law was a outline of Christ) it then goes on to say about the sacrifices. Now look at what is required for a basic sacrifice. It says it needs to be without blemish. It then says it requries the laying of hands so it will be accepted to make atonement (Leviticus 16:20-22 shows that laying of hands passes sin to the sacrifice). Then you bleed it to death to make atonement since the life is in the blood.

Now in todays Christianity they state "We believe in the Lord Jesus who is sinless and perfect and died for us!" But according to the outline of the old testament they would be skipping the part where sin is passed to the Lord.

Your opinions? I have my answer to these but I would like to drum up some honest feedback. Thanks
