  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Will God ask us on judgement day:

"why did you watch movies etc. while people in africa were dying because of nothing to eat"..

is our lifestyle the one jesus would agree on?

I don't know......some maybe yes.....some no.....
Is the lifestyle of those in Africa any better?

Sam Kennison said it best.
"It's a desert, nothing grows there......move to where the food is......"

Sadly, the plight of the hungry in Africa is the fault of their Warlord governments, and beyond the reach of the "free world" citizen.

If I had Bill Gate's money there would be nothing that I cound do but make the wealthy warlords even more wealthy and the poor more exploited. Unless you are ready to militarily overthrow a multitude of corrupt governments and kill millions more in the effort.

yes, my heart goes out to those poor folk's but honestly other than blindly throwing money at those who are exploiting the poor for their own profits there is nothing more I can do but pray for them to rise up and overthrow their own oppressors.
Freedom must be paid for in blood.

Are you referring to the fact that I am a sinner and that my own "righteousnesses are as filthy rags"?
If so, I agree.

I've spent my whole life producing food. We've got it down to where it is basically free. You could give someone a lb of wheat a lb of rice and a lb of beans and still you are under 50 cents in cost. Or you could substitute corn for the wheat and save a few cents. That's pretty low. Around the world, people that make two dollars a day pretty well never starve, it's people at a dollar or less. When an area starves today, it is almost always due to war, though some dictators have been able to starve a lot of their people without outright war, just so they can enrich themselves even more.

So I don't know, I was kind of proud of doing such a job of food production that it's only when people start shooting each other that things break down and people really starve in numbers. I haven't figured out how to stop wars.

In most systems there are individuals or even families that are starving. I haven't figured out how to really change that either.

But what I do is produce things efficiently and at low cost and my resources are pretty meager when it comes down to it relative to the world, but it really doesn't take much to help people out and prevent starvation. Really just a few cents a day.

It bothers me though that even when we send food and even aid, repeatedly now we are criticised for the destruction of local ag, and there's probably something to that. So we are moving away from just food production and more into into using crops as energy sources and such, but I doubt if that will please every one either. No matter what we do there is some person standing there asking for donations to build an organization to criticize everything.

In the end I do what I can, probably less than I can really, but I didn't go into food production in order to get rich, I went into it to feed people, and I find it pretty satisfying that way.

What are you going to do with your life markus?
