Heaven, Hell, and then?

Hi everyone

I really didn't know where to make this thread, so I just decided to put it here

My question is about astral travelling. If some of you don't know what it is, it's when your soul seperates from your body and takes trips in the spiritual world, or the astral realm.
My question is where this astral realm fits into the Heaven-Hell belief. I personally believe in Astral travelling, and the different levels of the astral planes (although i don't practice it... not really Christian thing ).
There is a Heaven, and there is a Hell, and there is a earth, but where are these astral planes? Do they really lead up to Heaven, or is that just a fairy-tale created by newagers?
If they do really lead up to Heaven, are the spirit guides (or guiding angels) that teach you real? Or are they just demons in diguise....? And if they are demons, how can they travel to the higher astral heaven planes?
And If these higher levels aren't part of heaven, What are they? Remember that the devil can come as an angel of light....
I'm not sure, but i think there are also lower levels... or negative levles. What are they? Do they lead to Hell?

I hope you understand a bit of my questions.... I have been asking this question for some time now

I'm inclined to say "fairy-tale by newagers", if that is where it comes from. There is a spiritual realm, for sure, with principalities and powers in high places, and the witch of Endor did conjure up the dead spirit of Samuel or God just sent the spirit - but either way, God was clearly not pleased with Saul seeking advice from mediums, for Samuel pronounced Sauls doom for faithlessness and disobedience to God's instructions. We are not to company ourselves to those seeking familiar spirits or to seek advice and knowledge from any source other than God's instructions for us. I have no doubt that satan and demonic powers can induce a deceptive state of astral projection in dreams, and as you have said, the devil comes as an angel of light. So, just trusting in God for the eternal life we now possess and obediently following after His good works and example of love would probably be our best business while we are here in the flesh. When we see Him we will know as we are known, and all will be revealed.
I would steer away from such practice, but I understand the interest - to know and understand.

Le 19:31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God.

Thankyou for your reply. That's exactly what it is, to know and understand. I am surely not planning on doing anything like APing, because I personally leave those things up to God to decide
It just seems that many Christians are devided when it comes to the AP question. Nobody really seems to know (not even NewAgers) what the astral realm exactly is... what it's there for....

Raphe gave a good answer. Anyways, an astral realm is kind of like saying God is a player in the universe, not a creator. God is creating heaven to be perfect, there is no reason why we'd want to leave!

I'm also inclined to say this could be a fairy tale made up. I dont think your soul travels in any sort of astro world.

Although it is fiction, "This Present Darkness" by Frank Peretti is an excellent fun read, and is all about astral planes, spiritual guides, and where they fit into the Christian world. His viewpoint, is that its all not of God, and is demonic in nature. Very compelling reading and definitely makes you think.
