Well, it hasn't really been determined that it was suicide. He was found on the floor at the foot of his bed in his bedroom. Prescription medications were found in the room, including sleeping pills, but no indication that it was suicide. Not saying that it isn't, but it's unknown at this point and time. Regardless of that, it's sad that he passed away so young and left behind a 2 year old daughter.
Surprisingly nobody's mentioned it yet, but Brad Renfro died on the 15th at the age of 25. For those that can't/don't remember, he was the kid from the movie "The Client" and, my favorite, "The Cure".
It should be mentioned that Bobby Fischer died on the 18th of kidney failure at the age of 64. He was a chess grandmaster that became even more famous with the release of the movie "Searching for Bobby Fisher".

It wasn't the drugs,it was how careless Heath Ledger was using them combined and the dr's that prescribed if they knew he was mixing them,doubt it though.
I liked him. I'm watching him right now in Casanova. I think I dread watching Batman this summer.I may wait to see it on dvd being a fan of his,I feel depressed over this still.

It has been reported that he was into more than just prescription drugs, although there's no evidence to say that they were a direct cause of death. What there is evidence for is that a combination of OxyContin (painkiller), Valium (anti-anxiety), Xanax (anti-anxiety), Restoril (sleep aid), Unisom (sleep aid), and Hydrocodone/Vicodin (painkiller) killed him. He's far from the first in the entertainment business to due from ODing on these sort of drugs. That is never good for your body.
The moral of the story is that not everything your doctor prescribes is a good idea! If possible, a combination of prayer, willpower and a support group such as your friends and family are often a better solution than taking various sorts of drugs; prescribed or not.
